Carbon County officials approved salary and personnel changes during the weekly commissioners and monthly salary board meeting on Thursday.

Salary Board• Buildings & Grounds: Changed salary for an Operations/Management Director to $50,000 from $58,718.40, effective Sept. 14.• Sheriff: Changed the rate of one part-time security officer to $11.05 per hour from $11.72 per hour, effective Sept. 14.Personnel• Sheriff's Office: Accepted Resignation of part-time security officer Robert J. MacDonald effective Sept. 12.• Buildings and Grounds: Hired Lorenzo P. Cinicola of Jim Thorpe as operations/maintenance director, effective Sept. 18.Former operations/maintenance director Mike Zavagansky will be retained at a rate of $30 per hour, not to exceed 160 hours (40 hours per week for four weeks) to help train the new manager.
