Schuylkill man admits to having child pornography

A Schuylkill County man admitted to possessing child pornography.

Kenneth Dale Schiff, 51, of Frackville, who also had a listed address in Somerset, New Jersey, pleaded to one count each of child pornography, a felony two, and invasion of privacy, a misdemeanor two, before Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika on Tuesday.Schiff was arrested by state police at Swiftwater following an investigation handled by the state police computer crimes department.Troopers charged that Schiff had photos of juveniles involved in sexual acts and transmitted them on the Internet. The computer in question was located in a residence in Kidder Township.Matika said the charges fall under the provisions of Megan's Law, which means Schiff must be evaluated by the state sexual offenders assessment board to determine if he is a sexual violent predator. Matika also ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report before sentencing.
