The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced upcoming events for Sept. 30 to Oct. 4.

Nickel-Keeno on Sept. 30 at 11 a.m.; New Voting Procedure Demo on Oct. 1 at 10:30 a.m.; Yahtzee on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Oct. 3 at 10:45; Scattergories on Oct. 4 at 11 a.m.

Preregister for flu shots to be given on Oct. 11 from 10 a.m.-noon.

St. Joseph Parish

Pet blessings

St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley will hold two pet blessings.

At 9:15 a.m. on Oct. 4, the Rev. Allen Hoffa will bless pets at St. Jerome Regional School, 50 Meadow Ave., Tamaqua for students’ pets.

At 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 5, Hoffa will bless pets at the parish, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill.

All pets are welcome but must remain in the custody of their owner. Pets can also be blessed in their vehicle if necessary.

Shrine of St. Therese

Novenas will be held at the Shrine of St. Therese, 1 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning in preparation of the Shower of Roses festival on Oct. 6.

Novenas, which will include the Exposition, Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, will take place at 6 p.m. on Oct. 3, 4 and 5.
