A Luzerne County man has been jailed in an incident in which he fired shots at a vehicle, with some of the bullets entering a nearby home where a woman was asleep.
State police at Hazleton said the incident began about 2 a.m. Monday along Main Street in Conyngham borough and continued to Banks Avenue, near Route 93, in Sugarloaf Township.Charged was Dominic Michael Lamont, 25, of 57 Star Mor Lane, Hazleton. He has been charged with aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, firearms not to be carried without a license, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel O'Donnel and committed to the county prison in Wilkes-Barre in lieu of $150,000 bail.According to troopers the incident began as the result of a verbal exchange between Lamont and Mickey Brandon Boswell, 29, of Leland, North Carolina, in the parking lot of Cuz-N-Joe's Bar in Conyngham. Lamont pursued Boswell from that location through Conyngham to Banks Avenue in Sugarloaf Township. At the time Lamont fired multiple rounds from a 9 mm handgun toward Boswell while he was seated in his vehicle.Further, multiple rounds struck the home at 51 Banks Ave. in Sugarloaf. The bullets struck the bedroom where Mary Catherine Wolfe was asleep. She was not struck by any of the bullets.Troopers said multiple shell casing/bullets were recovered from the scenes.
