Meed’s Memorial Church

Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church, 126 W. Catawissa St., has announced the following schedule at the church.

Sunday services will be held at 11 a.m. Nursery and children’s Sunday school are available during the service.

The church also hosts a clothing ministry from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.

On Dec. 1, the church will celebrate the first Sunday of Advent.

A showing of “A Christmas Carol” will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6; an advent tea will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 7.

Christmas tree lighting

The town will ring in the start of the Christmas season with a tree lighting in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, located across the street from Turkey Hill at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Following the lighting, residents are invited to Meed’s Memorial United Methodist Church for cookies, refreshments and Christmas caroling.

Summit Hill

Miller-Keystone blood drive

St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, will hold a Miller-Keystone blood drive from 1 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the Rev. James Burdess Social Hall, located in the basement of the church.
