Coaldale man pleads to corruption charge

A Coaldale man was one of 11 who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in Schuylkill County court and were sentenced by Judge John E. Domalakes recently.

Robert Rang, 21, of 141 Second St., on a charge of corruption of minors, was given credit for 66 days spent in the county prison and released on parole for 23 months. On a charge of indecent assault on a person under age 16 was given a concurrent sentence and on a charge of disorderly conduct to pay a fine of $100. He also must not have any contact with the victim and must abide by all of the sex offender's conditions. Rang was cited by Coaldale Patrolman Scott Cramer.Michael Daniel Christman, 20, Pottsville, on a charge of dangerous burning in an apartment of the Pottsville Housing Authority, was fined $100. He was cited by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey. He previously was in the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) probation program for 12 months but it was revoked.Louis Michael DeAngeles, 49, Auburn, on three driving under the influence (DUI) charges, was sentenced to serve nine days to 36 months in the county prison beginning Wednesday, May 4. He also must pay fines totaling $3,000, pay $900 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $180 to Schuylkill Medical Center (SMC), enroll in alcohol safe driving school, receive intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment and his driver's license was suspended for 12 months. On a charge of careless driving, he was fined $25 plus $50. Citations were by Schuylkill Haven police.Molly A. Kane, 20, Gilberton, on a charge of criminal conspiracy was sentenced to serve up to 12 months in the county prison and is given credit for time spent in a rehab center, and is granted immediate parole and to pay $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). Kane was cited by Mahanoy City Cpl. Michael Dissinger.Scott Eric McCrobie, 34, Pottsville, on three charges of simple assault and two charges of recklessly endangering another person was placed on probation for 27 months, and ordered to pay $50 to CJEA. McCrobie was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph R. Welsh.Shawn Michael Mulligan, 33, Mahanoy City, on a charge of tampering or fabricating physical evidence, was placed on probation for 23 months, ordered to pay a fine of $300, and to pay $50 to CJEA. Mulligan was cited by Trooper Roy Eiler.Sharon A. Smith, 42, Tremont, on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance in Minersville, was sentenced to serve three to 23 months in the county prison, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab. Smith was cited by Minersville Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers. Smith reports to the prison May 3, to begin serving the sentence. She received concurring sentences of 23 months probation for criminal use of a cell phone and 12 months for possession of drug paraphernalia.Brett Michael Wallace, 18, Pottsville, on a charge of theft from Sharon Brish, Cumbola, was given credit for spending two days in jail and placed on parole for 23 months, ordered to pay $50 to CJEA, and to make restitution of $11,162.21 to Erie Insurance Company jointly with William Wallace and David Nettles. He was cited by Trooper James Cuttitta.Richard Verne Watson III, 25, Auburn, on a charge of public drunkenness, was fined $100 and ordered to pay $50 to CJEA. He was cited by Trooper David F. Beam in Cressna.Carla L. Wolak, 34, Albrightsville, on a charge of criminal trespass on property of Elaine Sarge, Cass Township, was fined $300 and ordered to pay $50 to CJEA; and on a charge of disorderly conduct, was fined $300 plus costs.Richard Frank Crane, 41, Pottsville, on a charge of retail theft from Giant Market, was given credit for spending 40 days in the county prison and was released on parole for 23 months, ordered to pay $50 to CJEA, and to perform 10 hours of community service. Crane was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Joseph Murton Jr.Each defendant must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
