A Carbon County business was the target of a burglary. The break-in is one of two probed by state police at Lehighton, who also reported on other incidents.

The BZ-Bee service station, located at 709 Lincoln Ave., in Bowmanstown, was entered sometime between 10 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Entry was gained by breaking a side window.Once inside the criminals removed about 25 cartons of various brands of cigarettes, $200 in cash from a cash drawer and about $200 in rolled coins. The business is owned by Paul Sam Fandhu, 38, of Phillipsburg, N.J., troopers said.The second break-in occurred at the residence of Joyce Romig, 70, of 140 Gravel Lane, in Aquashicola, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Romig reported someone removed 25 percocet pills from her home. The incident occurred sometime between April 16-18, troopers said.A 16-year-old female from HC1 Box 3AA, Weir Mountain Road, in Gilbert, Polk Township, Monroe County, reported her cellular phone was stolen from her residence during the course of a sleepover. She told troopers she had several friends at her home and discovered later the phone was gone. The incident occurred sometime on April 15. The phone is valued at $400.Mark T. Murmello, 36, of 2 Long Mountain Road, in Effort, Polk Township, reported someone damaged his black mailbox by smashing it with an unknown object.The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on April 22 and 5 p.m. on April 23.Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at (610) 377-4270.
