A Tamaqua woman is facing charges following a one-vehicle accident on Wednesday.
According to the report, Jane Hanzarik, 51, of 201 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, was driving a red Oldsmobile coupe on Pine Street at 1 a.m. when her vehicle struck a Chevy Cobalt, owned by Florence Inama of 222 E. Broad St. The Chevy had been parked near the Tamaqua Rescue Squad building. Hanzarik then reportedly backed up and struck the Majestic House Apartment Building. She then allegedly drove across the street and drove over two parking meters owned by the Borough of Tamaqua. The Oldsmobile finally stopped after hitting a parked Ford Windstar minivan, owned by Tanya Schank of East Union St.,Hanzarik admitted to drinking "two beers" before driving the car. She was transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, in the Tamaqua Community Ambulance.Charges are pending toxicology reports.
