After a Summit Hill police officer was injured while trying to restrain a Jim Thorpe man, borough police chief Bruce Markovich expressed concern over the actions of onlookers who were cheering the man to beat up the officer. Summit Hill police officer Jack Soberick and Lansford police officer John Turcmanovich received injuries while responding to a domestic violence call at Lansford Court. The suspect, 6-4 and weighs 230 pounds, threw one officer through a home entertainment center.
