Park Concert
The Sunday in the Palmerton Borough Park concert for July 21 is by the Marine Band of Allentown. Palmerton Area High School senior Kelly Heinick will be the guest vocal soloist for the program. There will be marches, musicals, Gilbert and Sullivan, the Beatles and more. Heinick will be featured in selections from “The Sound of Music” and will conclude the program with “God Bless America.”
The concert is held in the park bandstand from 7-8:30 p.m. This concert is sponsored by First Northern Bank & Trust. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of great music.
The Bandstand committee reserves the right to cancel a concert in case of inclement weather. There are no rain dates. There is no smoking or vaping in the park.
PPRAC Ride XIX
On July 28 over 70 cyclists will gather at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, to start their latest PPRAC ride, which will have them pedaling from Pittsburgh back home to Palmerton. They will ride more than 500 miles to support the American Cancer Society and Dream Come True.
Holy Trinity will once again host the registration and breakfast send-off on July 28 as well as the welcome home dinner on Aug. 3. If you would like to make a donation, please mail it to the church office. Make it payable to PPRAC Donation.

Apollo 11 anniversary
The Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Bring your family to “land on the moon” using green screen technology. Share your memories of the moon landing and help to create a video history. Drink Tang like an astronaut. All are invited to attend.
Zinc City
Zinc City Motorcycle Club, Route 209, Kresgeville, will be holding a Carnival & Poker Run on Sunday. Sign-in is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community festival
Attention nonprofit groups, the next meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 24 at the Borough Hall. Please note the change of date. This meeting is mandatory. Please bring your sold treasure chest tickets and any forms/insurance that you have not turned in.
Class of 1973
Palmerton Area Class of 1973 will be holding a class reunion get together Sept. 21 at the Palmerton Hotel on Delaware Avenue from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Class members and a guest are all invited to attend. Bring along any class memorabilia you may have saved.

Breakfast
An all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Menu items include eggs to order, potatoes, pancakes, SOS, hash, ham, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, OJ, milk, coffee and tea.
The club is also open every Wednesday and Friday for dinner from 4-8 p.m.
American Legion
The Palmerton American Legion meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the VFW home, Forest Inn Road, Palmerton. They are always looking for those interested in joining.
Community meal
A free community meal will be served from 4-6 p.m. July 25 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a free meal and fellowship.
Jerusalem UCC
A closing program of the Vacation Bible School at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville will be held during the morning service at 9 a.m. Sunday. After the service, children, families and church members are invited to a family carnival in the church grove to celebrate the end of a fun week.
