Cruise night
Pace-Makers Association will hold Cruise Night in the Palmerton Borough Park from 6-8:30 p.m. Aug. 2. Come and see the cars.
Park concert
The July 28 summer concert in the Palmerton Borough Park will be by New Individuals (oldies and variety). The concert is held in the park bandstand from 7-8:30 p.m. This concert is sponsored by Horsehead Community Development Fund. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy an evening of great music.
The Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel a concert in a case of inclement weather. There is no smoking or vaping in the park.
‘Dogs’ in the Park
In conjunction with the park concert on July 28, Living Hope Lighthouse Church will be hosting “Dogs” in the Park. From 5:15-8:30 p.m. they will be serving free water and hot dogs for a quarter in the borough park.
Block shoot
The Palmerton Rod & Gun Club, 225 Gun Club Road, Palmerton will be holding a block shoot and flea market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Come test your skills at the block shoot. Food and drink will be available in the club house. The flea market will be held in the picnic grove.
Summerfest
Summerfest 2019 will be held at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. The event is open to the public with free admission and free parking. It will be held from 6-10 p.m. Saturday.
There will be food, Chinese auction and free entertainment by Jesse Wade. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a fun evening.
Movie in the Park
Join the Concourse Club for a free summer movie as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Disney/Pixar classic “Up” in the Palmerton Borough Park at 8:30 p.m. on July 31. Bring along a blanket or chairs as well as snacks and drinks to enjoy. All park rules apply. The rain date is Aug. 1.
Old Timers Day
Old Timers Day will be held at the Palmerton Memorial Park Pool on Sunday. Come to the pool for a fun day. Sunday hours are 1-8 p.m.
Holy Trinity
Worship service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will be held at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Please note the time change. This is also the date of the send-off breakfast for the PPRAC Ride XIX.
JUCC Annual Picnic
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville will hold their annual church picnic on Aug. 3 from noon to 9 p.m. Music by the Main Street Cruisers. Great food and games for every age. There will be a ticket raffle with great prizes and a cakewalk in the evening. Bring your friends and a lawn chair and enjoy a day of fun and fellowship. Rain date is Aug. 4.
JUCC Blood Drive
The blood drive that was canceled on June 1 at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville has been rescheduled. The Miller-Keystone blood drive will be held on Aug. 3, the day of the church picnic. Please consider calling to register a time to donate between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donation takes about 20-30 minutes and will help to save a life. Food pantry
The food pantry for Palmerton Area families in need will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton on Friday. The CACPAC sponsored pantry serves households in Palmerton, Towamensing and Lower Towamensing Townships, and the Palmerton Area School District including Bowmanstown.
The Palmerton Food Bank is always in need of canned goods, nonperishable food items, and monetary donations. If you can help please bring food items to any CACPAC member. Most area churches collect on a regular basis.
