Children at Franklin Elementary School were swept into the Christmas spirit at Winter Wonderland, a fun-filled night of activities presented the Franklin Elementary PTO.

The event was held Friday evening.As the children entered the room, all sorts of activities lay before them. First they decorated a bag with markers and stickers and then used it to collect their projects from throughout the room. They could make several Christmas ornaments, reindeer food, which was comprised of oatmeal and glitter to sprinkle on the lawn at night for the moon to make it sparkle bright so when Santa's reindeer fly and road, the food will guide them to their home.They also made some Snowman Soup, a packet of hot cocoa, marshmallows and a candy cane stirring stick.There was also a station to pick up a package of ingredients to make Christmas morning pancakes.Children could also select a tiny sack stuffed with a tea bag to give to grandma or decorate a salt dough ornament, or put a face on an angel ornament.The evening concluded with stopping by the cookie tasting station and having a visit from Santa Claus.The event was coordinated by Kathy Pfeifer, assisted by PTO moms.
