Panther Valley School District’s search for a new superintendent is underway.
Dennis Kergick is set to retire from the position when his contract expires in June.
The district is accepting applications for the position through Feb. 3.
The salary for the position is “negotiable and competitive” based on a candidate’s training, experience, qualifications and criteria set by the school board, according to a job posting on the district website.
Kergick was hired in 2014 with a salary of $97,000. He signed an additional three-year contract in 2017 and his salary in 2018-19 was $104,996.
Applicants must possess a superintendent’s letter of eligibility from the Department of Education.
The posting says that successful candidates will have a high standard of ethics, a proven ability to maintain positive staff and board relations, effective communication with all district stakeholders, and the ability to promote a collaborative environment.
Experience in a school district central office is preferred.
Interested candidates must provide a cover letter, resume, certification, credentials, transcripts, Act 34, 1511 and FBI clearances (dated within one year) and three reference letters.
