Katelyn Evans, a senior at Panther Valley High School, will compete in the second annual Raise Your Voice High School Vocal Scholarship Competition.

The competition will take place at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 7 at at Allentown Brew Works "FIVE."Star of the Day Event Productions (www.staroftheday.org), which started the competition last year, will sponsor the event.There are a total of 15 area high school vocalists juniors and seniors competing for the top prize.The top-scoring senior will receive a $250 cash scholarship plus more than $400 in prizes, including a headshot package and professional performing arts coaching.The top scoring junior will receive a $100 cash scholarship plus more than $300 in prizes, including a headshot package and professional performing arts coaching.The competition recruits judges outside the Lehigh Valley area. This year, the three judges include a former Metropolitan opera singer, a Broadway and voice over actor, and a professional dancer/performing artist/playwright.The event is open to the public.
