2018 Reorganization meetings: Towamensing Township Supervisors

Guy Seifert was sworn in for a six-year term during Towamensing Township’s reorganization meeting on Tuesday.

Chairwoman and Treasurer Penny Kleintop maintains her positions, along with Vice Chairman Thomas Newman.

Scott Mosier was appointed as roadmaster, Brenda Drew was appointed as secretary, Thomas Nanovic of Nanovic Law Offices was appointed as township solicitor, Carl Faust was appointed as zoning officer, Marjorie Faust was appointed as an alternate zoning officer, Brenda Drew was appointed as the primary open records officer and Erica Everett was appointed as an alternate open records officer.

Other business

The board approved its list of annual donations, with Valor House receiving $2,000, Palmerton Area Library receiving $4,000, Towamensing Township Volunteer Fire Co. receiving $5,000, and the Girl Scouts receiving $250. Troop 3580s Lindsay Fronheiser and Ashley Mosier attended the meeting to accept the contribution on behalf of the Girl Scouts.

Fee changes and additions were approved for Scott Bieber’s services. The percolation testing fee has been raised from $450 to $500, and the stormwater infiltration testing fee has been raised from $700 to $750. The flood plain administration fee has been set at $80 per hour.

Kirk, Summa and Co. has been appointed to audit the 2017 fiscal year for the township.

Christmas tree pickup is set for Jan. 11, weather permitting.

The board issued a reminder that winter road maintenance will take precedence over garbage collection, when necessary.
