Coaldale Police received the results of blood work taken in connection with a Nov. 26 incident and have charged a Frackville woman with drug-related offenses.
Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of West Ridge Street at 12:15 a.m. for a suspicious vehicle, a gray midsize sedan with two occupants. On scene, the officer observed a gray Mazda with the engine running and two females inside. The driver was identified as Julia Marie Evans, 23, of Frackville. She told the officer she was staying with a friend, the passenger in her car, but they were thrown out and were going to an uncle's house on Greenwood Street. Evans appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was asked to complete field sobriety tests, which she failed. The officer allowed her to return to the Mazda while he spoke with the passenger. When he returned to the driver's side of the car, he noticed several clear plastic baggies which weren't there before. The bags were marked with a red RX, which is known to be used for heroin. The vehicle was searched and yielded several more baggies, as well as an uncapped syringe and a tourniquet stored in the driver's side door panel.Evans was taken for blood work. The results show she had diazepam, clonazepam, amino clonazepam, oxycodone and oxymorphone in her system. She was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance (two counts), possession of drug paraphernalia and littering.
