State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a one-vehicle crash at 12:32 a.m. on Thursday along Route 61 in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Arthur G. Frey, 51, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 1998 Dodge Stratus northbound in the right lane when he observed a vehicle sitting along the east berm. He began moving toward the left lane to pass the other vehicle.Midway between the right and left lanes Frey's vehicle struck a large boulder on the road causing the oil pan of the Stratus to rupture.Frey and his passenger, Joseph Maddis, 22, of Barnesville, were not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
