Police investigate crashes

Fern Ridge State Police reported investigating the following crashes this week:

Police responded to a crash at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Route 115 and Evergreen Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township. A 2005 Toyota Scion XB turned onto Route 115, striking a 2012 Ford Fusion causing minor damage.The Toyota's driverwas cited. Police did not release the names of the drivers.Police also responded to a crash at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday in which a Toyota Camry XLE hit a utility pole in front of Pleasant Valley High School.Elizabeth Galindez, 70, of Brodheadsville was attempting to make a right-hand turn into the high school when she missed the turn and hit the pole. The pole was knocked over. The car came to rest 150 feet south of the point of impact. Galindez, who was not injured, was cited in the crash.Another crash occurred 7:13 p.m. Wednesday at Route 115 and Marion Lane when the driver of a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe ran a stop sign and struck a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado. The Colorado had to be towed from the scene. The Santa Fe's driver was cited.A Ford Explorer, driven by Heather Grove, 30, of York Springs, crashed into the rear of a Ford Escape driven by Wayne W. Getz of Effort on Route 209 just south of Lake Mineola Road. The incident happened at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday.Getz was transported to Pocono Medical Center with moderate injuries.Grove was cited forfollowing too closely.
