Charges of driving under the influence are pending against a 46-year-old Minersville man who was stopped at 12:38 a.m. Saturday on Route 443 in Mahoning Township.
State police at the Lehighton barracks said a traffic stop was initiated just east of the intersection with Route 902 when officers observed the driver of a 2006 Ford Escape commit several Motor Vehicle Code violations.Police said he exhibited signs of impairment and was placed under arrest for DUI before being transported to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, for a blood-alcohol test.
