Traffic stop leads to arrest of two

A traffic stop has led to the arrest of the driver and passenger on charges.

State police at Fern Ridge said a vehicle stop was made along Route 903, just north of the Penn-Kidder school in Kidder Township, Carbon County, about 2:10 a.m. on July 19. The driver was identied as Shukri Abdulla, 23, and his passenger, Nicholaos Psoras, 23, both of New York City.Abdulla was found to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. He was also found to have in his possession a small amount of marijuana.During a search of the vehicle a plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana was also seized. Psoras, who is the owner of the vehicle, claimed full responsibility for the bag found.Abdulla was taken to the Monroe County DUI center for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.Psoras was arrested and transported to the barracks where he was processed and released. He was charged with drug possession counts.
