Employee cited for drug use

A woman was cited after she reportedly snorted heroin while working at the Turkey Hill Mini Market at 330 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.

Tamaqua police received a call at 1:05 a.m. on Aug. 22 concerning a store clerk who was acting in a strange manner.At the convenience store they found Jacquelyn Etta-Marie Taylor, 25, of 426 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Taylor was incoherent and police called for an ambulance.Once EMS arrived officers checked the rest room, where they found two glassine bags with suspected heroin residue. Taylor denied any knowledge of the bags, but a small metal pill box in her pocket contained eight glassine bags containing heroin as well as a cut straw. Two of the bags matched those found in the rest room.She admitted snorting heroin and was transported to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale, for a possible overdose. Taylor was cited for possession of a controlled substance.
