Two Schuylkill men attacked with a machete and pipe by black-clad men

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the attack Friday of two Schuylkill County men with a machete and a pipe by two unidentified men clad in black and wearing masks.

The victims, Ryan Sibel, 29, and Michael Felty, 32, both of Hegins, happened between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., Trooper Vincent A. LaSelva wrote in a press release.According to the release, both victims were in a home when someone knocked on the door. Sibel opened the door to find a woman standing with some other people. Sibel turned around to ask someone else in the house if it was OK to let them in. As he turned back around, he was hit in the forehead with the butt of a pistol. The suspect punched him a few times, then ran into the kitchen and began to beat Felty with a pipe. Meanwhile, another suspect pushed a machete into Sibel's throat, cutting him. Sibel grabbed the blade, and fell onto his back. The suspect was trying to pull the machete away from Sibel, who let go of the blade. As he did that, the suspect hacked down toward his throat again, but the blade instead struck Sibel on the forearm. The suspect took off his mask and showed Sibel his face while trying to slash him with the machete.Neighbors in an adjacent mobile home heard the commotion and forced their way in through a side door. Once inside, they told the suspects to get out. They eventually did.One of the suspects is described as having red hair and a red beard.
