Search for driver who hit sign

State police at Lehighton reported investigating two crashes on Wednesday, one being a hit and run.

The first crash occurred at 4:08 p.m. at the intersection of Burger Hollow and Serfass roads, in Polk Township. Troopers said Frank J. Gnassi, 28, of Kunkletown, operating a 2007 Dodge, was stopped for a stop sign on Serfass Road to go onto Burger Hollow Road while Brian A. Desieno, 31, of Effort, was southbound on Burger Hollow Road driving a 2006 GMC. As Gnassi entered the intersection, his vehicle was struck by Desieno's in the front passenger side wheel well. No one was injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Gnassi for the crash.The hit-and-run crash occurred at 6:15 p.m. along Fireline Road in Bowmanstown. Troopers said a vehicle was driven eastbound and the driver was negotiating a right curve and lost control. The vehicle crossed the road and entered the north berm where, it struck a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation traffic control sign. The driver then fled the scene.
