A Tamaqua man escaped injury after his vehicle crashed as a result of icy roads.
According to Summit Hill police at 10 a.m. on Wednesday,officers received a report of a one-vehicle crash in the area of 188 W. White Bear Drive.When officers responded they found a Dodge Dakota off the side of the westbound lane. It had apparently struck a retaining wall in the area after water runoff and ice on the roadway caused the driver, Zechariah Wassell, 26, of 223 Washington St., to lose control. He was not injured in the crash.The vehicle had to be towed from the scene and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation crews were called to treat the poor road conditions.
