Cow head left on Hindu property in Monroe

A case of ethnic intimidation, criminal trespass, and harassment over the weekend in Monroe County remains under investigation.

State police at Fern Ridge said the incident occurred sometime Saturday and Sunday during the night, when someone entered onto the property of the victim, leaving the complete head of a cow.At 8:45 a.m. Sunday, Trooper Carrie A. Gula responded to Possinger Drive, Jackson Township.The male victim, whose identity is being withheld, resides in the area, which is also the home to a cow sanctuary.The victim’s religion is Hinduism, and in this religion, the cow is the symbol of life and may never be killed.The victim houses many cows based on his religion and has only been living at this location for the past month.Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Fern Ridge barracks.
