Two Schuylkill County drivers were seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 5:20 a.m. Fridayat the intersection of Highridge Park Road and Keystone Boulevard in Cass Township.
State police at Frackville said James F. Kull, 45, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2000 Subaru Outback northbound on Highridge Park Road while Richard Landis, 33, of Hegins, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound.Troopers said Kull attempted to make a left turn onto Keystone Boulevard and pulled into the path of Landis causing a collision.Upon impact the Subaru spun counterclockwise and came to rest facing southwest.The Cobalt spun counterclockwise, causing it to travel sideways through the right lane of travel over a traffic island and curbing and coming to rest facing east.Both drivers were transported to the Joe Zerbe Airport and flown to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, by medical helicopter with what troopers termed as serious injuries.Kull was cited for the crash.
