A New York man was cited by McAdoo police in connection with a traffic stop on Aug. 26.

It was 1:34 a.m. when an officer on patrol saw a blue Chevrolet traveling north on Kennedy Drive with a nonworking passenger-side head light. After stopping the car the officer noticed a strong aroma of marijuana coming from inside. The driver was identified as Richard Maxwell, 50.A passenger in the car said he was the one who had been smoking, but Maxwell's tongue had a green tint.The driver was given, and failed, field sobriety tests and issued a citation for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
