Six burglaries, including three in Polk Township, Monroe County, and two in East Penn Township, Carbon County, are being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

• A break-in happened between noon Nov. 6 and 8:49 a.m. Nov. 13 on Harrity Road in Polk Township.

Police said someone was in an uninhabited residence on the property owned by the victim and damaged electrical wiring in the garage and broke a window in the basement bathroom.

• A burglary occurred between Nov. 7-9 at a residence along Squirrelwood Court in the township. The victim, a 40-year-old Effort man, reported the burglary. No details of the incident were provided by police.

• A third break-in was reported on Nov. 9 in Polk Township. The victim lives along Mill Pond Road in the township. No details of that burglary were provided by police.

• A burglary occurred in East Penn Township between noon Sept. 22 and 4:27 p.m. Nov. 9 on Ben Salem Road. The victim, a 54-year-old resident of Alburtis, reported someone broke into a residence he owns at the above location and stole two snowblowers and aluminum vehicle ramps.

• Another burglary in East Penn occurred between 3 and 6:15 p.m. Nov. 6 on Smithland Road. The victim, a 23-year-old Lehighton man, said someone gained entry to the residence by entering a door inside the garage of the home. The victim did not report anything missing. Police said the suspects fled into the nearby wood when the victim arrived at the residence.

• The sixth case involves break-ins that took place between Oct. 1 and Nov. 20 in the 600 block of Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township, resulting in the arrest of Joshua Hoffman, 23, of Palmerton. Police said he forced his way into a residence several times between the above dates and stole $440 in currency. Following his arraignment before Magisterial District Justice Joseph Homanko, Hoffman was remanded to the Carbon County prison in Nesquehoning.
