State Police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks have reported the following driving under the influence cases. Police did not release names.

• A 28-year-old Bangor man was arrested for driving under the influence at 3:17 a.m. Dec. 31 at the intersection of routes 209 and 715 in Chestnuthill Township. Police said he was stopped after he neglected to use his turn signal while turning into the Wawa store parking lot. He was requested to take a chemical test of his blood.• A traffic stop resulted in an arrest of an East Stroudsburg man for driving under the influence. The incident occurred at 1:54 a.m. Jan. 1 at the intersection of Pheasant Run and Burger Hollow roads in Polk Township.The man was taken into custody for a chemical test of his blood.• A traffic stop at 8:25 p.m. Dec. 31 on Overlook Drive near Fairyland Road in Franklin Township for traffic violations resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old Albrightsville woman when police discovered she was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.• A 39-year-old Palmerton woman was arrested for driving under the influence of controlled substances after she was stopped for traffic violations on Interchange Road in Franklin Township.Police said a passenger in the vehicle was found to be wanted on an active arrest warrant and was lodged in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning.Police said they made the stop and arrests at 7:40 p.m. Jan. 1 near the entrance to the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
