Due to a prior commitment by the contractor, there will be no work on the North Railroad Street (Pleasant Row) wall in Tamaqua on Thursday or Friday of this week.
Reconstruction of the retaining wall will resume on Monday, Nov. 1.Although construction is postponed until Monday, West Elm Street between Washington and North Railroad streets will be closed to traffic periodically on Thursday and Friday for the hauling and stockpiling of materials.The Italian Bakery remains open during the construction.On Thursday and Friday, Pleasant Row will be open to traffic and customers will have access to the bakery.When Pleasant Row is closed for construction, Italian Bakery bread will be available across the street at Padora's Six Pack House, 209 North Railroad Street.The work schedule may change depending on weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.Any questions may be directed to the Tamaqua Municipal Building, 320 East Broad Street, or call (570) 668-3444 or (570) 668-0300.
