Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Brodhead Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge are providing a free “Women’s Intro to Fly Fishing Program” from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 at the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge in Monroe County.
This 4.5-hour educational program is designed for women interested in learning the basics of fly-fishing (equipment needed, knot tying, fly ID/USE, casting and more). Participants will receive hands-on instruction from PFBC staff and community instructors.
It is a perfect opportunity to learn fly-fishing basics and meet other women interested in fly-fishing.
Those who attend will leave with a fly-fishing booklet, a network of friends to continue your fly-fishing journey with and the opportunity to attend free on-water classes held throughout the year.
The fishing license requirement is waived for participants age 16 and older.
Preregistration is required, as space is limited. Register by 4 p.m. June 5.
