Carbon to install bullet-resistant glass in offices
Two weeks after saying it needed to review a bid bond requirement, Carbon County’s board of commissioners awarded a contract Thursday for the installation of bullet resistant material in three of its district court offices.
The contract with Clear Security Ballistic Deterrent Systems of Roseland, New Jersey for $32,870 is contingent on receipt of an e-verification form within two weeks.
Clear Security was the sole bidder for the work after commissioners had bid it once previously without drawing any interest.
The job calls for the installation of bullet-resistant glass at District Judges Casimir Kosciolek’s, William Kissner’s and Eric Schrantz’s offices. District Judge Joseph Homanko’s office was not included because the office will be relocating into a new building in Weatherly.
In other action Thursday, commissioners:
• Approved the advertisement of the farmland preservation board monthly meetings from June 2018 through May 2019.
• Approved the continuation of the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging to be fiscal manager for the LINK program through June 30, 2019.
