Wildlife and nature artists from as far away as Oldsmar, Florida and as near as "just the other side of Kempton" will meet at the Kempton Community Center in northern Berks County Oct. 17-19 for the Sixth Annual Hawk Mountain Nature Art Show.
Familiar local names, like Dan Christ from Kempton and Sam Magee from Lenhartsville, will be joined by names less familiar, like Richard Dellalonga from Oldsmar, Florida, and Raven Priest from Lake in the Hills, Illinois.About 50 artists, many at the top of their field nationally, will be displaying and selling their work, in a range of media including pen-and-ink, oils and acrylics to carvings and photography.Some of the artists will be working on pieces during the show, demonstrating and discussing their techniques.Hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19. Food will be available for sale throughout the show. The Kempton Community Center is located off Route 737, just north of Kempton.There is an admission charge. The show is sponsored by local artists, who in turn donate admission proceeds to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and the Ned Smith Center for Nature and Art.For more information, call art show coordinator Sam Magee at (610) 756-6376.
