$5K reward for trailer, welder stolen in Bowmanstown

The owner of a trailer and welder stolen from a job site in Bowmanstown is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the return of the equipment.

John Greene, owner of Greene Crane and Rigging in New Mexico, said that his 20-inch 2017 PJ Trailer and 2017 Miller Bobcat 250 welder were taken from a site next to the Bowmanstown diner.

“We know that they were stolen between 4 and 5 a.m. on Monday morning, based on two different sources,” Greene said. “One person heard something, another passed by and saw the trailer sittingt here at 4 a.m.”

Greene said that his company had the equipment out to install a foundation for a tower for Positive Train Control, a safety mechanism that helps prevent train collisions and derailments.

Greene filed a report with the Lehighton State Police Barracks. Police are currently investigating cameras in the area to determine where the equipment was taken.

“In 16 years of traveling and contracting, we’ve never lost any equipment,” Greene said.

State police ask that anyone with information regarding the incident contact the Lehighton Barracks. Greene can be contacted at 575-491-5554.
