A 4-year-old boy was transported to a local hospital awake and alert after being rescued from Lehighton Pool Monday afternoon.
Crews were called to Baer Memorial Pool at 1:55 p.m. for a reported drowning. However a few minutes later, dispatchers said that the child was awake after someone performed CPR.
Lehighton Borough Manager Nicole Beckett was at the pool following the incident but said she did not witness it.
Beckett said the boy was transported to a local hospital, but he was fine when he left the pool. She said she could not provide any other details at the scene.
“Everybody’s a little shaken up now,” she said.
