Break-ins, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton are investigating two burglaries and theft incidents in recent days.

A break-in occurred at the residence of Harry Earl Heebner, 65, of Box 1627, Mountain Road, in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County. Various gold rings and loose change were taken during the entry that occurred sometime between noon and 1 p.m. on Aug. 16.Troopers said Cherry's Sunset Diner, Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered sometime between 9:45 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 5:20 a.m. on Aug. 14. Taken was $190 in cash.Troopers said the unlocked 2004 Dodge Stratus and 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 of Tracy A. Lovett, 44, of 40 Marshall Ave., Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township, were entered while parked in the driveway of the home. Removed was loose change totaling about $20, troopers said. The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20, and 5:30 a.m. on Monday.
