Schuylkill break-in being probed

State police at Frackville are investigating a burglary at a Schuylkill County residence that occurred earlier this week.

Troopers said a residence at 127 Wild Turkey Lane, New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township, was entered sometime between 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, and 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.Troopers said the cirminals smashed two locked door handles on the front exterior doors. They then threw a large rock through the window of a French door located on the front porch. They then entered the structure by unlocking the door through the smashed window.Once inside they removed various hunting items and clothing and a set of Midland walkie talkies. They also removed assorted tools including a gas-powered 16-inch Stihl chainsaw, two 18 volt Dewalt cordless drills, a 12 volt Chicago all terrain vehicle winch, assorted hand tools and about $530 in assorted coins. Also taken was a 16 gauge Ithaca feather light pump shotgun with a box of Remington ammunition and several duffle bags. The total estimated value of the missing items is $2,200, troopers said.Troopers said the criminals possibly arrived at the scene on off road dirt bikes. The listed victims are Rocco Dominic Colavito, 71, the owner, and his son, Steve James Colavito, of Blandon, Berks County.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 874-5300.
