Carbon County commissioners
Carbon County Commissioners last week:
• Opened bids for two Community Block Development Grant projects including Seventh Street reconstruction in Jim Thorpe (from North to South Street) and work at Joe Andreuzzi Community Park in Packer Township. Bidding on the Jim Thorpe project were Bracalente Construction Inc., $87,401; and Lehigh Asphalt Paving and Construction Company, $76,430. Bidding on the Packer Township project was C.E. Ankiewicz Construction and Excavation Inc., $78,490.54.
• Approved an amendment to the Electronic Monitoring Service Agreement with Behavioral Interventions Incorporated to include the ability to lease and monitor GPS House Arrest units, and to add the use of a smartphone app for the monitoring of low-risk offenders. The estimated cost is $4,000.
• Approved purchase of service agreements/in-home provider agreements with Carbon County Right From The Start, Community Solutions Inc., Northampton County, Homestead Family Services, Pennsylvania Children and Youth Association, and the Victims Resource Center.
• Approved a change order to the agreement with C&D Waterproofing Corporation for the courthouse slate roof and skylight repair project. The change order authorizes the use of used slates in certain areas of the roof and keeps the contract at $216,000.
• Approved a grant-in-aid application/agreement with the Juvenile Court Judges’ Commission for salary reimbursement of the juvenile court office for the 2018-19 fiscal year. The estimated revenue is $69,300.
• Approved a contract with Eagle Wireless for seven EzFleet GPS units in sheriffs’ vehicles. The agreement runs two years at $19.95 per unit per month.
• Approved a proposal submitted by Enterprise Fleet Management for the lease of two Ford Fusion, two Chevrolet Equinox, a Ford F-350 Chassis with Dump Body, a Ford F-250, a Ford Inspector Utility, and a Chevrolet Trax. The lease is a 60-month term.
• Approved an agreement allowing St. John’s UCC Boy Scout Troop 777 to hold meetings at Mauch Chunk Lake Park and occasional weekend campouts at Camp Apple Tree.
