Franklin Township will use this year’s batch of Community Development Block Grant funds toward water/drainage improvements.
On a unanimous vote, supervisors on Tuesday approved the general application for the funding year of 2018 for street improvements, Phase 2, for the Red Hill Road water/drainage improvements.
In a related matter, the board approved the cooperation agreement between the township and Carbon County for the funding year 2018 CDBG program.
That came after the board held a public hearing conducted by Jennifer Hunsicker of the Carbon County Office of Planning.
Hunsicker said the current anticipated amount the township will receive in CDBG funds is $90,997.
Of that, $74,618 is for project costs, while the other $16,379 is for administrative costs.
The project selected for fiscal year 2018 is water/drainage improvements to Red Hill Road, Phase 2.
Phase 1 will be done using CDBG funds from 2015.
The CDBG application is due on or before Nov. 2.
