MONROE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

The Monroe County Commissioners approved the following this week:
• The commissioners accepted a proposal from Schoonover and Vanderhoof, Architects LLC in the amount of $40,500 to perform plan design, construction documentation, bidding and construction observation for renovations to 701 Main Street. The project will be for new offices for the district attorney.
• A professional services agreement was approved with attorney Janet Catina in the amount of $961.54 biweekly to act as a Protection From Abuse advocate for the remainder of 2018. Catina is replacing attorney Jennifer Wise, who resigned.
• The county will be conducting a public auction of used county vehicles on Oct. 12.
• Purchase of services agreements were executed for Monroe County Children and Youth Services. For the period of July 1 through June 30, 2017, a contract with a limit of $160,000 with Supportive Concepts for Families Inc. was ratified.
Agreements with the following providers for July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 were also executed:
CHOR Youth & Families Services Inc., $225,000; Alternative Rehabilitation Communities Inc., $440,000; Northampton County Juvenile Justice Center, $880,000; Cornell Abraxas Group Inc., $850,000; Children’s Service Center of Wyoming Valley Inc., $50,000; Valley Youth House, $75,000.
• The use of Courthouse Square from Oct. 5 to 12 by Woman’s Resources of Monroe County.
Woman’s Resources will be using the square to place pinwheels to acknowledge the victims of domestic abuse that the agency has served.
• Courthouse Square will also be used by Snowmen of Stroudsburg to display a series of rotating snowmen from November through February.
