A 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by James M. Wall, 28, of Mahanoy City, was towed from the scene on a crash at 2:29 p.m. Saturday on the Park Place Road in Mahanoy Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said he and a passenger, Michael C. Wall, 26, also of Mahanoy City, escaped injuries.

Police said the vehicle was northbound when the operator failed to negotiate a left-hand curve on the untreated, ice/snow-covered roadway. The vehicle went off the road, struck a PPL utility pole and came to rest in a ditch along the east berm, facing north.
