Lehighton Borough Council, on a 6-0 vote, with Councilman Joe Flickinger absent, took the following action on Monday:
• Approved a change order for the Community Development Block Grant Stedman Avenue project that reduces the project costs by $9,599.
• Approved police standard operating procedures for mobile video and bodycams.
• Agreed to advertise for part-time public works laborers.
• Adopted a resolution pertaining to state aid in which the bulk of it will go into the police pension, with the balance going to the nonuniform plan.
• Approved Regina Marzen, Tori Kunkle and Robin Rimbey as part-time employees for the winter season.
• Approved the logistics of the request to host the Schuylkill River Runners Half-Marathon April 14.
• Appointed council President Grant Hunsicker as a member of the Mid-Eastern Counties Association of Boroughs.
• Approved a license agreement with Troy Faust, and to authorize Hunsicker to sign the agreement.
• Approved the lease with the Lehighton Boys Basketball Booster Club for the use of the annex gymnasium.
• Approved the request from the Jim Thorpe Lions for fire police help at the Jim Thorpe Halloween Parade.
• Approved the 2019 pool pass rates.
• Announced that borough council will hold budget meetings in mid to late November.
