Tamaqua man is youngest Grand Patriarch

Tyler M. Arnold of Scott Encampment 132, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, was recently installed as Grand Patriarch for the Grand Encampment of Pennsylvania. Noted as the youngest Grand Patriarch in the almost 190 years of the Pennsylvania Encampment’s existence, Arnold, a Tamaqua native and graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, is a member of Harmony Lodge 86, Lady Harmony Rebekah Lodge 86 and Scott Encampment 132 all of Tamaqua; Canton Allentown 39; and is an associate to Bushkill Encampment 55 of Allentown and Shenandoah Lodge 591.

As Grand Patriarch, he heads the various Encampments throughout the Jurisdiction of Pennsylvania and has selected Alex’s Lemonade Stand as a project for his term.

Also installed into Grand Encampment offices from Scott Encampment are Raymond R. “Bull” Boulanger Jr. of Hometown, who will serve as the Grand Junior Warden as of June 2020; and Justin C. Bailey of Tamaqua, who was elected as the Grand Marshal.

Scott Encampment has been active for over 155 years and was named after Tamaqua’s famed Scott Rifles of the Civil War. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is celebrating 200 years of Odd Fellowship in America, with the local lodges celebrating 175 years of Odd Fellowship in Tamaqua.
