Tis the season for plenty of food, drinks and quality time with family and friends and with Thanksgiving right around the corner it’s time to start the preparations.

• Ambience is everything — from what the home looks like, the restroom, the well-appointed candles and decorative towels.

• The food and tabletop presentation is key. I do not like to match, so don’t worry if your glasses and plates are all different.

• It’s important a host is ready and excited for the party, as they are the ones who will set the tone. As the host, don’t do too much as there are so many wonderful store-bought items — just arrange them so they look special.

• Get rid of all the disposable stuff as the presentation is what will elevate the visuals for your dinner.

• Using your finer dinnerware is always a nice touch, but for Thanksgiving, it’s better to just use a nice cloth as there are so many different options. This trick will help keep you sane throughout the meal.
