Snow showers, cold temperatures in the forecast

Snow showers or snow squalls may develop on Saturday and result in light snow accumulations through Saturday evening, according to the National Weather Service. 

On Sunday, additional snow showers or snow squalls are possible, and may coat some roads with up to an inch of snow Sunday morning in parts of the region, with some accumulation possible in higher elevations.

By midweek, nightly temperatures are expected to drop into the teens.

Here is the latest forecast:

Today: Partly sunny, with a high near 36. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tonight: A chance of snow, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Saturday: Snow likely, mainly between noon and 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: A slight chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 34. West wind 7 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 37.

Monday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 25.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 15.

Thursday: A chance of snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 30. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
