The Marian boys came away with a basketball win in local sports action on Friday.

A change of venue was the result of mechanical issues at the Salisbury pool.The Tamaqua girls prevailed 83-68 in a very competitive and hard fought competition.Tamaqua was paced by double winners Rebecca Kanaskie ( 200 free, 100 breast, Medley relay, 400 free relay), Abby Brickler ( 50 free, 100 fly, medley and 400 free relay) plus Sarah Maue ( 500 free, Medley relay ) , Lexi Kerstetter ( 100 back, medley and 400 relay ) plus Emma Rago ( diving). Salisbury was paced by Sarah Bobeck ( 200 IM, 100 free ) and the 200 free relay.The Salisbury boys squeezed by Tamaqua 76-68.Salisbury received excellent performances from double event winners Ben Wiener ( 200 IM, 100 breast, medley and 200 free relay ), Mahlon Reihman ( 50 free, 500 free, medley and 200 free relay ), Dan Bonge ( 100 fly, 100 back, medley and 200 free relay) plus diver Danny Bujics. Tamaqua winners Bryan Ramirez ( 200 free, 400 free relay ), Andrew Castagna ( 100 free, 400 free relay ).
