February 24, 1973 - Three takedowns and a reversal help Palmerton's Bill Graver earn a 10-5 decision over Greg Adams of Emmaus in the finals of the Lehigh Valley League wrestling championships. Graver reached the title bout by recording pins in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. Three other Times News wrestlers end with silver medals at the tourney - Palmerton's Todd Mertz at 88 pounds, Lehighton's Bruce Troutman at 105 and Slatington's Nick Delong at heavyweight.
