Pool season has arrived, and the Palmerton Pool once again hopes to make a big splash.The pool opens at 1 p.m. Saturday. In light of the holiday weekend, the pool will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday.As of June 4, the pool will have regular hours, from 3-8 p.m., weather permitting.Known for its bevy of special events, visitors can be assured they'll receive the same level of excellence they've come to expect, said Susie Arner, president of Pool Pals."Our special events will be as exciting as they've been in the past, if not even better," Arner said.The First Sunday before Summer Celebration will be held June 20; Fun Day is July 4; the Christmas in July Celebration is July 18; Old-timers Day is Aug. 1; and Carnival Day is Aug. 15.For information on daily/season pass rates, visit the pool's new web site at
