Finally a furever home for Jenny; cat had lived at shelter for five years

After five years, Jenny finally has a new address.

The cat now calls White Haven her home, thanks to her new owner, Emma Horn, who adopted Jenny on Thursday after being sheltered at the Carbon County Friends of Animals since 2012.

“I had seen them post about her before on their page and I actually went to look at another cat who was there who was being fostered so she wasn’t actually at the shelter when I went,” Horn said.

“So, I was gonna just leave, but I asked if I could see Jenny.”

For Horn, that encounter turned out to be a match made in heaven.

“She was just such a sweetheart,” Horn gushed as she spoke of Jenny, whom she described as a domestic medium-hair cat.

Horn said she wasn’t sure why Jenny went so long without being adopted.

“It was really upsetting that she had been there for five years,” she said.

“I know that once cats get older, people usually don’t want to adopt older cats.”

Jenny is believed to be 5½ or 6 years old.

Regardless, Horn said Jenny has fit in quite nicely with her other cat.

She’s so nice, and really friendly,” she said.

“She was making herself right at home and she was sleeping on my pillow in bed with me last night.”
