A public meeting has been scheduled for Thursday night to discuss possibly designating Lehighton as a “trail town.”

The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, along with the Lehighton Downtown Initiative and the Borough of Lehighton are holding the meeting, which will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers of the Lehighton Borough Building.

The meeting is open to the public, and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Volunteers are needed for a trail town steering committee and a study of current amenities and businesses.
